Installing a Home Bowling Alley: Things You Need to Know
Before we can begin the home bowling alley construction for your bowling alley at home, we need to make sure your house can accommodate the basic requirements for a bowling lane.
A regulation-size bowling lane is approximately 86 feet. The lane itself is 60 feet long and 3.5 feet wide. The pin deck (where the pins stand in triangle formation) and pit take up 7 feet. Note that it is standard practice to provide a 3-foot gap at the back for the convenience of the machine technicians. Players need space to gain momentum while approaching the lane, and 16 feet is the optimum length for that.
We therefore recommend rooms over 86 feet long and 10 feet high (floor-to-ceiling distance) for regulation-size, home bowling alleys. If, however, the available space is not as wide, All American Bowling Equipment as your one-stop home bowling alley installers can customize the length of the bowling alley to fit the room.
All three packages we offer include the essential home bowling alley equipmen bowling lanes, bowling machine, ball retriever and sorter, pins, balls, and overhead display. We can also install a customized players’ lounge, extra displays, LED color lanes, and automatic bumpers as value-added features.
